Data Product: Driving Sustainable Mobility Adoption using Data

Sustainable Mobility back in 2016 in a developing economy was more of an aspiration than a reality. Plagued with limited charging infrastructure and lack of affordable electric vehicles with relevant range, decreased the viability of proving a B2B EV mobility service using traditional business models. However, with an innovative solution, powered by data we were able to create a viable business model to start B2B EV adoption in the country.


Developing a tailored set of solutions for the B2B operation of Electric Vehicles, including EV specific routing and scheduling, we were able to recognize the best cut within the customer demand, that could be serviced at high productivity using EVs. This allowed us to offer increased value to the B2B EV mobility customer when compared to the incumbent logistics providers creating a compelling case for EV adoption. The technology solutions also brought predictability to the operational execution. For the first time for corporates with huge employee mobility needs, it was more profitable to use EV mobility for their employees compared to traditional logistics. The rest as they say is history. It was only a matter of time before the ecosystem took notice of the success the team had engineered. The world bank and VCs funded the project. Many more EV companies sprouted which became brands in their own right. But we were happy to play the role we played right to get the ball rolling.
